In 2017, Sydney was ranked the worlds second most expensive city. So it’s no surprise that travellers visiting Sydney stay for only a short time before jetting off somewhere more affordable. BUT there’s tonnes of things to do in Sydney completely FREE if you know where to look!
The first thing you need to do is to look on What’s on Sydney! There’s so many random free events for everyone!
If traditional tourism is more your style, then read on for some free fun visiting some of Sydney’s most iconic places!
Walk from Bondi to Coogee
An easy scenic walk that encompasses some of Sydney’s most beautiful coast line. Definitely a must-do, but make sure you wear a hat and sun cream!
Chill out on Bondi Beach
Hang out with the Bondi locals on Bondi beach! Go for a swim, build a sand castle, dig a hole, or just relax, but whatever you do, try not to end up on Bondi Rescue!
Walk across the Sydney Harbour Bridge
This is one of my favourites! The views are amazing and you can even see all of the people doing the bridge climb above you!
Selfie in front of the Opera House
The beautiful sails of the Opera House are so ‘grammable! And I promise there’s no shortage of people to take your picture if a selfie is not your thing!
Walk through the Royal Botanical Gardens
Beautiful gardens to take a stroll through, especially in the summer – take a picnic blanket and just vege out!
Visit The Art Gallery of NSW
General admission to the gallery is completely free and so are most of the exhibitions and events!
Check out The Museum of Contemporary Art
Entry is completely free! However, some of the special exhibitions do have require a ticket.
It doesn’t matter where you are in the world and what your budget is, you can still have a good time if you look hard enough!
